Top Design - Tonight!

by Mari Robeson in

Well, HGTV did it last year with Design Star and now this year BRAVO is following the trend. Tonight, Top Design, will air its first episode. Seems to be that people are finding Interior Design exciting these days....hmmmm....
I saw yesterday on the Today Show an interview with designer Todd Oldham who will host the show, along with one of my most favorite designers, Jonathan Adler, who will be the lead judge. According to them the show sounds as though it will not only offer great design solutions but some great drama as well... What appeals to me most is that they chose the top designers from all over the United States but didn't appear to limit it to the stereotypical designer. The contestants are artists, contractors, even one gentleman who doesn't have a diploma but has a very successful, self-taught consulting business. I love this because this is the real deal. In design you can learn so much...truth is, you either have it or you don't. I'm very excited to see how the show unfolds...who knows, I may want to send an audition tape in next year... http://www.bravotv.com

Great Minds....

Well here's a fun way to end the week! Yesterday two very lovely people came into my showroom. They were traveling through, back down to their home in LA. They had to stop in because, as you can see, the woman and I had something in common! This is her tattoo on her back. She and her boyfriend were so delightful. What can I say, but great minds think alike! My logo has an interesting story you can read about on my website. Her story was about freedom, new beginnings, and taking flight. How Divine! Happy weekend everyone! I hope to see you at the Grand Opening tomorrow!!!tatto.jpg

The Journey!

by Mari Robeson in

It feels like Christmas in more ways than one. I'm starting to unpack all these treasures for my showroom and I'm remembering my journey that has brought me thus far. It's always been a dream of mine to open a boutique. I love the feeling when I walk into a showroom that is thoughtfully and creatively designed. It makes my heart flutter and I feel inspired! I used to think I should be doing something more worth while with my life and then one significant day I realized that sharing my art, meeting and talking with others, and bringing more color into the world was what I was supposed to do.
Each of us have more than one gift that is uniquely ours. It's our job to bring that into the world. Collectively, if we all follow our heart's passion we will be doing something very worth while for the world...I hope as you read this you know it was written just for you. There are no coincidences. Follow your passion. Live your dream. What are you waiting for?
This has been a roller coaster of a road but at least I know I tried. That is something at the end of my days, I will never regret. (6 days and counting!)

More groovy stuff you'll find at MRH...these pillows are filled with a delicious lavender blend, hand silk screened, unique, distinctive and divine!pflynnpillows.jpg
